Scott-burton-update-group-pic--lowres

Some of you may know Scott Burton.  An avid collector of tattoo Art.  To say that Scott has a lot of work would be an understatement.  He has work from a long list of star artists such as Jerimiah Barba, Turk, Jo Harrison, and Bugs to name a few.

So you can imagine I am honored to tattoo right along side some of these greats!  Here is an update video part 2 on his leg sleeve plus some pics of the Hannya mask we just did and A better picture of his Herman Munster.

Foo Dog Tattoo Sleeve by Jason Dunn video update

Post-pic1-lowres-daniel-leg Here we are working on my customer and friend Daniel's leg sleeve.  This tattoo was inspired by the statues in my studio and is very similar to what I want to get tattooed on my arm.  Daniel came to me and wanted something unique and painterly like.

Post-pic2-lowres-daniel-leg We decided to have the foo dogs playing with the ribbon and smokey clouds filling the air around them.  Lurking in the smoke is the white dragon we are developing in the back ground.  How many white japanese dragons have you seen tattooed?  Well...  we're gonna do it!  I put in a lantern for dramatic lighting and we will have a lit up sphere near the temple later down the road.  Let me know what you all think?  More to come.  Enjoy!  BTW.... Sorry for the blurry pics.

Japanese Inspired Dragon / Koi Sleeve By Jason Dunn video

Hey Hey Hey!  Here is a finished tattoo video update of my good friend, James Edmonds japanese sleeve.  Who know's how long this has taken.  We have been at it here and there off and on for a year or so.  But it's finished and we are on to bigger projects now.  James has decided to get his whole back done in a ganesha theme.  Part of his tranformation into a new way of life.  I can't wait to get started on this and I will be putting up lots of tattoo updates on it.  So look out for that coming soon!

Japanese koi and Dragon Tattoo Updates!

Koipic 3 In the past week I tattooed two of my favorite clients (and friends), James and Cristian. Both have Japanese inspired tattoo sleeves they were working on with me. James came in for his final sitting on his koi/dragon tattoo sleeve. Many of you have seen the picture of his orange and black koi on my website and in some of my advertisements. Jason-dunn-and-james-koi-tattoo-sleeve We were really happy with the results of his tattoo sleeve and James is looking forward to starting on his backpiece! So you guys will have to stay tuned for the start of that coming real soon.

Cristian also had an amazing koi and dragon half-sleeve that we are Jason-Dunn-koi-dragon-tattoo working on. In his last tattoo session we added color to the dragon which I think compliments the blue and orange koi on his arm. Jason-Dunn-koi-dragon-tattoo2 Stay tuned to see the way his chrysanthemum will soon tie in the entire piece.

I hope you guys are enjoying your summer so far! I am looking forward to the Caged Ink event at the Pomona Fairgrounds August 14-16. Make sure you come stop by at my booth and say 'hi'!

Jason Dunn attends Ink N Iron Tattoo Festival

InknIron09web Saturday was the day.  Me and the crew took off for an adventure down to my old home town, Long Beach California to the Ink N' Iron Tattoo Festival on the Queen Mary.  Trever and Mikey arrived and we cruised the Scion xb right to the doors of the ship.   Ok, actually we had to park near the pike and take a stinky shuttle to the event but it was fun and made this a quest!

Jason-Dunn-Crew-InknIron-2009  There was tons of food, vendors and music on hand and bad ass tattoo artists as well.  After getting an eyeful of Californias finest pin ups walking around we scurried in for a cold beer.  The music was jumpin and we were in for a treat.  There were 3 levels of tattooing going on and we made our way over to our dear friend Scott.  Scott was getting his other hand tattooed by world famous artist, Bugs.  Can one really have enough skulls?  I think not.

Jason-dunn-inkniron-eathan-morgan-2009 The buzz of the tattoo machines and the splashes of color everywhere you looked made for an unforgettable event.  I got to see a few people I knew and take some pictures with my old boss Ethan Morgan, and some old friends, Fonzy and Rick Walters to name a few.

Jason-dunn-rick-walters-inkniron-2009 All in all it was a wonderful trip and I hope to be working there next year if possible.  This was a great show because many overseas artists attend such as Robert Hernandez, Boris, Jo Harrison and many more.  I spent lots o' loot and we made our way home safely.

Jason-dunn-fonzy-inkniron-2009 I recommend everyone get out and go next year and I'll see ya there!

New Praying Mantis Tattoo by Jason Dunn

Jason-clay-dunn-tattoo-19 Hello People.  I thought I would share a new tattoo I did today with all of you.  Sorry no video for this one.  Only the picture.  Some of you may know Magical Trever, he's the guy with the batman tattoo.  He's been chomping at the bit for a forearm tattoo so it was time to hook him with a little creepy guy.

I love the chinese praying mantis and we both thought it would make a great piece for his arm.  Bright and colorful!  Around eight hours give or take.  Let me know what ya think?

We will have a whole line up of shirts, stickers, fine art, prints and posters for you to pick up when you come to see us.  Also anyone looking to get tattooed at the show, Now would be a good time to get scheduled.  Please call us to get an art consultation lined up so we can work out any details prior to the show.  See you there.

New Lettering Tattoo on Neck by Jason Dunn

My good friend Joyson, has come to me before to get a tattoo portrait of his grandmother. It's been a few months since I did that portrait tattoo for him but, he was eager to get his next tattoo going.

Joyson survived a horrible accident a few years ago. He was pronounced dead but, was brought back to life with the help of a gifted medical team. After a long and hard recovery, Joyson is now living life to the fullest. This tattoo, "You Only Live Twice" represents his new views on life and the challenges he overcame to get to this point in his life. The tattoo came out really smooth and he really loved it. Check out the video to see more on his story and the tattoo process.
