Scion Tattoo Event Video 2008

The Scion Drive Tour Event was a hit!  Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting us.  I tattooed straight from 11 am to 7 pm both days giving out Free tattoos with the Scion logo.  Miss Peachy Pie and I had a great time and met lot's of cool people.  The AMCI Team was fun to work with and I never thought I'd ever be tattooing on the edge of Sunset Strip!

Sorry to all the people we did not have time to tattoo.  Shout outs to Intelligence records for the free cd "Linguistics: The Writes of Passage"  I think you will enjoy this too!

Jason Dunn Does Digital Illustration and Design

Yes it's true!  Alot of my Customers only know me as just a tattooer or a fine artist.  Ok there are other sides of me as well I have'nt shown people on this site.  I used to own a graphic design company and sign shop years ago.  From time to time I still get asked to pick up the mouse and wacom tablet and do alittle airbrushing digital style.

I thought I would share with you guys a few examples of this work since I am not promoting it on this site.  Enjoy and by all means please leave comments!  I'd like to hear from you.

I am now accepting all major credit cards including paypal service!  So this means....  When you come in for an art consultation and want to leave a deposit to commission me, you can, right here Online!  No more running down to the local ATM machine.

My new tattoo machine created by Master Artisan Dan Dringenberg

I just wanted to give a big thank you to Dan Dringenberg for the craftsmanship that went into making my new machine.  I got the chance to go down to his shop the other day and pic out a machine and go over some plans for a future custom built one. 

When we entered Dan's shop we were greeted at the door by a few lovely ladies and escorted back to Dan's workshop.  To me it was a tattooers dream.  There are machines sprawled everywhere and Dan makes them all hand made with love one at a time!  These machines kick ass!  I asked him for a machine that would help me lay in some soft greys and blend color and he helped me pick out a machine that was built from steel like the samurai swords are made of.  The metal has been folded in on it's self about 512 times and leaves a striped pattern like a tiger on the metal.  They call this Damascus steel.

Everyone there was cool and there was no "Rockstar" attitudes at all.  You would think after 15 years of tattooing I'd know a thing or two about machines, but the more I Learn about them, the more I realize I don't know shit.  So I am leaving that up to Dringenberg from now on and looking forward to going back for more!

Where The Wild Things Are: Tattoo by Jason Dunn

Hello boys and girls

I thought I would share this tattoo I started last weekend on my new client and friend, Travis.  He was referred to me by another customer/friend, Omar and they asked me to do the whole bottom of his left leg up to the knee with a "Where the wild things are" theme. 

I jumped at the chance to do this and prepared by hunting down the children's book written and illustrated by Maurice Sendak.  I love the idea of this and had no clue how we were gonna pull this off.  I started drawing and placing characters and 3 hours later we had a great composition with boat, twisted tree, bushes and Monsters galore!
