Sorry everyone, I needed a few days to sort through paper work and such. As most of you have been following, Peachy Pie and I had the time of our lives. The start to many adventures. I will probably have to break this up in a few posts.
The train ride was great except for all the mouth breathers on board. I need more ventilation Amtrak! Taking a train was cool because we got to see all types of sites our beautiful country has to offer. This was my first time to the East so I felt like we were coming across the plains like our ancestors did.
The Union Train Stations in Chicago and Washington DC were like something straight out of a movie. All the buildings turn brick once you pass the mid west and all of the trees are tall stick like and plush green.
We spent lots of time with my new family and friends in Jersey. New York City will take your breath away. My biggest surprise was to find that the streets are a lot narrower than one would imagine. So for us people in the west, imagine a standard street but with buildings that reach the moon and no space to see out once you are in there. They are very close together. If you look up you will fall over trying to see the top and a million things are going on at once. People live literally on top of each other and in the clouds.
Oh by the way I'm officially over my fear of Bridges! You can't do anything with out going over a bridge and paying someone a fee. DC was immaculately clean and our Smithsonian Museums are too much for words. I even touched a rock that was once on the moon and we saw the very first airplane there! You've got to go. We even got time to go to Phillidelphia and experience rain and humidity.
Actually none of the bad weather or tons of people could take the smile off my face, because I got to stand in the same rooms as George Washington, Ben Franklin and other forefathers.
I looked up at the Statue of Liberty and even got my picture with a Rocky Statue. I saw the Liberty Bell, a few battle fields, 2 New York rats, a Princeton ground hog, many other wild creatures, tattooed 5 portraits, one lower back piece, a tribal like arm design, some tribal stars, went to Ellis Island, bought some hats, ate a kinishe, went to a Puerto Rican wedding, listened to some Scottish bagpipes, touched a lot of historical stuff I wasn't supposed to and took my picture next to Oprah's Harpo Studio and enjoyed some great cigars.
It doesn't get any better than this. I can't wait for my next adventure!
