The most popular image viewed on Jason Dunn's website is the pink cancer ribbon tattoo (which you can see by clicking here) that he did in 2007. The tattoo came out beautifully and so I decided to see what other kinds of cancer ribbon tattoo designs are available online. I came across this website called healingartt.com and there was some really interesting information available on the lavender cancer ribbon that they particularly promote. Considering I never heard of a lavendar cancer ribbon I thought what they had to say about it was cute and clever. Here's what they said:
"Why a
Lavender Ribbon instead of
Pink? Reason #1 Lavender is the Awareness
Ribbon color for General Cancer Reason # 2 Pink
and blue mixed together make Lavender and since we promote Breast Cancer Awareness
for both Men and Women it is perfect for us Reason #3
We are a Unique Foundation with a Twist on Breast Cancer Awareness, we had
to add the purple twist to our ribbon, remember we are artists we can't do
everything the same Reason #4 Try to get a man
to wear Pink is harder then you think, (lol=) So to anyone who might not understand
these are the reasons for the Lavender Ribbon, but we also promote the Pink
Ribbon. Our hope is that the Lavender Ribbon will catch on for it's Unique
Options in provides Breast Cancer Survivors."
Be sure to check out healingartt.com for all of their unique stories and creative services for breast cancer survivors and supporters.
Miss Peachy Pie

Hello!
I found your blog while looking up resources for breast cancer patients, and thought you might be interested in a woman who's taken a pretty unique path in her own cancer battle. Meg Gaffney is a nurse, and when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, she decided to skip chemotherapy and radiation, and go right to a bilateral mastectomy. But when her plastic surgeon recommended a skin graft surgery to build up new nipples, she decided to incorporate art into her own personal healing process.
For Meg, that means getting nipples tattooed onto her body instead of the graft surgery, and now -- after months of searching for an artist willing to take on her challenge -- she's about to get the work done!
We're 8 parts into a documentary on Meg, which is featured on GrowingBolder.com. I'd love for you to check it out and let me know what you think!

Meg is dynamic, creative, and completely committed to ridding the world of cancer, and her spirit is contagious.
Thanks for your time, and best luck in your own journey!

To all women who are fighting breast cancer i wish you all the best of luck. I wish this world weren't so screwed up where our government is spending billions to bail out companys who have owners that can't be honest instead of spending it on reasearch to cure the number one killer of women in the world. I think this is just backwards. I will be showing my support for the cure i got a ribbon tattooed on my wrist. I suggest to all men out there if you love the women in your life go out and do the same.
