Mark Willis is a customer that found me on the internet. He contacted me several months ago about doing a koi sleeve for him. At first he inquired about me just drawing something up for him but it did not take him long to decide he needed to come out to California to get tattooed all the way from Australia! That's right Australia! That's far away and 14 hours of plane travel.
I suppose if you are going to do something you'd better do it all the way. Right? So Mark flew out and we developed a sleeve to be done in record time. Here are some pictures of the tattoo from the drawing stage to the outline and where we are at today with it. This is 21 hours of tattoo time and we still have a few to go. Let me tell ya, this guy can sit strong. He's holding it down for the Aussies.
Mark admired the calico koi tattoo I did for my good buddy James so we did something similar and added some chinese coins and rope to tie both of the fish together. He wanted to go big and bright on the fish and subdued on the rope. To help it all pop we added a black & grey wave pattern to the background
